Transfer news LIVE!
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all aiming to seal big deals as the start of the new Premier League season draws nearer. It could be a busy 24 hours or so at the Emirates Stadium with the Gunners expected to confirm the signings of Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera after announcing the £52million arrival of Noni Madueke, to take their summer spend close to the £200m mark, whilst also retaining an interest in Eberechi Eze.
Liverpool, who have already spent over that amount, are looking to bolster their attack with a £70m move for Hugo Ekitike. This is after Newcastle made it clear Alexander Isak was not for sale and the Magpies themselves have turned to Brentford’s Yoane Wissa having pulled out of the race for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker.
Manchester United have seen a third bid for Bryan Mbeumo accepted. How this impacts Wissa’s future remains to be seen and the Bees will not want to lose both of their star forwards in the same window. Meanwhile swap deal involving United winger Alejandro Garnacho and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson has been mooted. Elsewhere, Tottenham remain hopeful of concluding a deal for Morgan Gibbs-White. Frank issues Gibbs-White response amid transfer wait
Thomas Frank refused to discuss the potential signing of Morgan Gibbs-White at his first press conference as Tottenham head coach.
Spurs appeared last week to be close to completing a £60m deal for the midfielder, but it had since emerged that Nottingham Forest are said to be considering legal action.
That is believed to centre on whether a confidentiality agreement in Gibbs-White's contract was breached.
The 25-year-old has trained this week with Forest and it remains to be seen whether Spurs press ahead with the move, but Frank gave little away when asked about the situation.
"You know me well, so I'll use what I've done all the time," Frank said.
"I'll not speak about players that are not mine. I think I've done two exceptions and they're getting older, that's [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi. The rest I'll just speak about the players that are inside the squad of Tottenham."

Madueke tipped for Arsenal left wing as key Martinelli difference revealed
After completing his £52million move to Arsenal, the pressure is on Noni Madueke to succeed.
When news of the Gunners’ interest first broke, it sparked a fierce backlash from some fans online that included the hashtag ‘#NoToMadueke’ and even a petition against the deal.
But those who know Madueke best are confident that he will thrive in north London. Chief among them is Saul Isaksson-Hurst, who has worked as Madueke’s individual coach for the past four years.
What began as a few pre-season sessions has since evolved into a close partnership. Throughout the season, Isaksson-Hurst sends Madueke video clips from his matches, which the pair analyse together to identify areas for improvement.
“He backs himself. Not in an arrogant way, but he has a lot of self-belief,” Isaksson-Hurst tells Standard Sport.

DONE DEAL: Sels extends Forest stay
Matz Sels has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest.
The goalkeeper has been handed improved terms after impressing throughout last season but has not extended his current deal, which will expire in 2027.

Leverkusen hope to hold on to Xhaka
Bayer Leverkusen hope Granit Xhaka will stay at the club this summer despite reported interest from Sunderland and Neom SC.
Both clubs have seen offers for the veteran midfielder ‘immediately rejected’, according to Sky Germany.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are both thought to be interested, too.

Madueke reveals why he joined Arsenal
Madueke hopes he will be able to help Arsenal end their trophy drought.
His move from Chelsea to North London was confirmed today, in a deal worth as much as £52m.
Speaking after signing, he said: “I feel like everyone here, all the players here in the team are established Premier League players in their own right and I'd like to say I am as well.
“I’m really happy and really proud, so it’s a great moment for me. It’s great to go back home, be with my mum, my dad. I know my mum misses me in the house!
“It’s already a great team with a clear identity and I can’t wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step.”

City name preferred goalkeeper replacement
Man City will move for James Trafford should one of their two main keepers leave the club this summer.
Trafford came through their academy, and Guardiola’s side hold a buy-back clause.
Newcastle are keenly interested in the player as they look to provide Nick Pope some competition, but that clause has prevented them from tying up a deal for the Burnley shot stopper.

Maddison back in training but Kulusevski remains absent
James Maddison is in partial training ahead of Tottenham’s first preseason friendly as he continues his injury recovery, Thomas Frank has confirmed.
The midfielder missed the final weeks of last season, including the Europa League final, with a serious knee injury but did not require surgery.
Frank did not confirm when he expects Maddison to be available, but suggested he was further ahead in his recovery than Dejan Kulusevski and Radu Dragusin.
"Maddison is the closest one," Frank said. "He is part training with the team, so that's very positive. Obviously a key player.
"Dragusin and Kulusevski are a little bit further behind."

Madueke to miss preseason tour
Newly signed Arsenal winger Noni Madueke will not participate in the Gunners’ preseason tour of Asia, where they are set to face AC MIlan and Newcastle in Singapore before meeting Tottenham in Hong Kong.
This is due to his playing commitments at the Club World Cup, where he most recently played in Chelsea’s semi-final win over Fluminense just 10 days ago.
He will instead take some holiday time before joining up ahead of the Premier League campaign’s kick-off.

Jackson expected to stay at Chelsea
Nicolas Jackson is ‘very much expected’ to stay at Chelsea this summer, according to a fresh report in football.london.
There is tangible interest from a variety of clubs, including Aston Villa, Manchester United, and AC Milan, but few are expected to be willing to meet Chelsea’s £100m valuation.
The player is not considered untouchable - any player could leave for the right fee - but he is not necessarily for sale, either.
Jackson is facing more competition for minutes than ever this season after the Blues signed £80m worth of strikers in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, both of whom impressed at the Club World Cup.

DONE DEAL: Arsenal confirm Madueke signing
Noni Madueke’s move from Chelsea to Arsenal has now been confirmed.
The deal could be worth as much as £52m with add-ons, taking Arsenal past the £100m mark for their summer spending.
The player has signed a five-year deal and becomes the club's fourth signing of the summer transfer window. He will don the No20 shirt.
Madueke's arrival takes Arsenal’s summer spending beyond the £100m mark, following deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. They are still in the market for a new striker, too, with a deal for Viktor Gyokeres thought to be close.
